Brief historical reference
The Novomykolaiv special boarding school for children with severe speech disabilities was founded in 1976.
110 children from many regions of Ukraine were sent to the boarding school.
It is noteworthy that the building of educational building No. 1 was founded in 1912. It housed a gymnasium, then, during the Soviet rule, a zoo-veterinary technical school. During the Great Patriotic War, the building was badly damaged and was not used until 1958. In 1958, a decision was made to restore the building for the organization of an inter-collective boarding school for children of the Novomykolaiv district. In this status, the boarding school existed until 1976, about 200 children studied there.
